This standard is a model for preventing accidents in the workplace and has been compiled in compliance with the best international standards by a specialized team of UAE nationals.

Objectives of the Occupational Safety and Health Management System Standard:

  • To determine the occupational safety and health strategy and policy that must be implemented by institutions operating in the UAE.
  • To provide guidance to institutions with regard to the development of occupational safety and health management systems distributing roles and responsibilities according to specific procedures.
  • Provide an occupational safety and health risk management methodology in order to identify, assess and monitor such risks, as well as procedures to prevent workplace accidents, and how to deal with them as and when they occur.

ISO 45001

ISO 45001 is one of the world’s most anticipated standards for occupational health and safety systems (OHS). It is aligned with ISO 9001 (Quality Management) and ISO 14001 (Environment Management) and builds on OHSAS 18001, a framework aimed at controlling risks. DOSH is responsible for the administration and enforcement of legislation related to occupational safety and health. Also, it has a vision of becoming an organization that leads the nation to create a safe and healthy work culture that contributes toward enhancing the quality of working life compliance.
